Peppers and Sausage Penne

This recipe is perfect for those busy weeknights, but make enough because you will want extras for leftovers!
1 box of 3 Farm Daughters Penne
1lb Spicy Italian Sausage, remove casings
1 red bell pepper, sliced
1 green bell pepper, sliced
½ cup olive oil
3 cloves large garlic crushed lightly
Red pepper flakes, to taste/preference
¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
½ cup fresh parmesan, grated for garnish
In a small pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the garlic and saute until light brown, careful not to burn. Discard the browned garlic. Add the red pepper flakes and saute for 1 minute. Remove from heat and set aside.
Heat a large skillet over medium high with a tablespoon of olive oil. Add the sausage, chop to small pieces, and brown through. Add the bell peppers and saute until soft.
While cooking, boil water for penne and cook per packaging instructions. Save ½ cup of pasta water prior to draining.
Add the pasta to the sausage skillet and combine. Add the garlic oil and any needed pasta water to create sauce.
Top with parmesan and enjoy!
