What better way to celebrate a trip to the ballgame than with an American classic! Today we are whipping up something fun and delicious. Picture a juicy hot dog nestled in a warm bun, topped with creamy macaroni and cheese. What could be better?
8 Hot Dogs or Brats
Quality hot dog buns
8 oz 3 Farm Daughters elbow macaroni uncooked
2 TBS butter
2 TBS all-purpose flour
½ tsp sea salt
¼ tsp garlic powder
1 cup whole milk
¼ cup Greek yogurt
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Homemade Mac & Cheese
Hot Dog Instructions:
Heat grill to high. Grill the hot dogs until golden brown on all sides. Place in buns.
Cook elbow macaroni according to our package instructions. Drain, and set aside.
Cheese Sauce Instructions:
Mix dry ingredients in a small bowl. Set aside.
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
Add flour mixture and combine.
Cook until slightly brown.
Add milk and whisk until smooth.
Add Greek yogurt and whisk until smooth.
Cook on medium heat until the mixture has thickened (about 4 minutes). Do not boil.
Once thickened, reduce heat to low and add cheese. Whisk until cheese is melted and mixture is smooth. Add salt to taste.
Add cooked 3 Farm Daughters elbows to pot of cheese sauce and stir until the sauce is evenly distributed.
Let sit for 3-5 minutes until cooled slightly. Serve warm. Enjoy!
